Prime Minister Visits Malaysia's National Cryptology Centre to Strengthen Cybersecurity Agenda

PUTRAJAYA, 4 June – Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim paid an official visit to the Malaysia Cryptology Technology and Management Centre (PTPKM), reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening the nation’s digital security and information protection capabilities.

 

During the visit, the Prime Minister was briefed on key initiatives aimed at enhancing Malaysia’s cryptology and cybersecurity ecosystem, including progress in Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) migration, artificial intelligence (AI)-driven security technologies and the implementation of the National PQC Migration Plan 2025–2030.

 

 

The briefing highlighted Malaysia’s readiness to address emerging cybersecurity threats posed by advances in quantum computing while accelerating the adoption of next-generation encryption technologies to safeguard critical national infrastructure and digital services.

 

 

As part of the visit, the Prime Minister signed PTPKM’s official commemorative plaque, symbolising continued government support for advancing cryptology research, innovation and national cybersecurity resilience.

 

The visit underscored Malaysia’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its digital security framework and accelerate the development of strategic technologies essential to the country’s digital transformation and long-term cyber resilience.
